WILD TURKEY HUNTING
This 20 lbs and 9 inch bearded Rio Grande tom turkey was taken the opening morning, April 1, 2007, of the Kansas Spring Turkey Archery Season by your guide, Jim Gourley. 4 toms and 3 jakes were called within 15 yards of a Double Bull Blind in less than two hours in one spot(this is the same ground where we guide hunts). These birds liked the H.S.Strut 360 slate call with a hickory striker and a single Delta hen decoy. The bird was taken with a vintage 1982 Jennings Lightning compound bow, open Pride sights, Golden Key Futura release, Easton Gamegetter II shaft with Muzzy 100 four blade broadhead and a Grasshopper.
